UNSION’s General Secretary Election is live. All members who joined before the end of July will get a vote and you have until 25 November to make yours count, by returning your ballot paper in the post.As you can see from the candidates’ statements, our branch nominated Andrea Egan.

- Will remain on the wage of a social worker, not the excessive package our current General Secretary receives.
- Opposes UNISON’s subservience to Starmer’s Labour. UNISON members will come first, not the Labour Party.
- Will resource branches so we can better support members, giving you access to legal advice when you need it.
- Has shown real commitment to Higher Education in our battle for proper funding and decent pay.
