Consultative Ballot over Compulsory Redundancies – Last chance to vote!

Our ballot closes at 5pm on Friday 16th October, so if you’ve not already voted, please do it now!

All members working directly for the University (so excluding Students’ Union, L&Q or Kingdom Services) should vote. We want as large a turnout as possible, for two reasons.

1. It will show the University that our members are serious about defending the jobs of fellow workers.

2. It will allow us to be reasonably confident that we’d be able to win a full postal ballot with a necessary 50%+ turnout, if it comes to that.

We very much hope that the University will find a way to avoid us taking strike action, by coming up with alternative plans which avoid people losing their jobs against their will. But we have to be prepared to collectively stand up for ourselves when our members’ jobs are threatened.

Please make sure you vote and encourage others to do so.
