Consultative Ballot Result

We’re pleased to announce the result of our consultative ballot over the University’s proposals for changes to Information Services, which will potentially mean compulsory redundancies being imposed.

With a turnout of 56%:

82% of our members are willing to take strike action,

95% of our members are willing to take action short of a strike.

Thank you to everyone who voted. Given the circumstances, we’re very pleased to have demonstrated the strength of feeling of our members, both in terms of the turnout and the result.

The University’s consultation formally ends on Monday, with individuals informed of the outcome over the course of the rest of the week.

We will begin the preparations for a full, postal strike ballot, but we very much hope that the University recognises the feeling of union members, both UNISON and UCU, and works to avoid making compulsory redundancies.
